Mincremental

A material exploration of glass and ceramics.

Formerly known as Nascent Dialogues, Mincremental is a celebration of the incorporation of 3D modelling and 3D printing into craft practices.

Both processes progress in an incremental and minuscular manner. 3D modelling allows users to be extremely detailed with their forms, by making incremental changes to satisfy a range of needs. 3D printing is then capable of producing such details by printing the design in relatively minuscule layers.

The powder composite is composed of four parts of glass and one part of bone china. Each form is designed from parametric modelling using Perlin Noise, an algorithm that randomises geometries, producing the various undulations.
